Macular Degeneration Evaluation, Testing, and Management
Macular degeneration is a medical condition that affects the macula, the part of the retina responsible for central vision, fine detail, and color perception. It is a leading cause of vision loss in people over 50. The doctor will review the results and determine if further testing or treatment is necessary.

Myopia Management for Children
Myopia management in children focuses on slowing the progression of nearsightedness rather than simply correcting vision, with two of the most widely used and evidence-based approaches being low-dose atropine eye drops and multifocal contact lenses.

Atropine eye drops are used nightly at low concentrations to gently slow eye growth by influencing biochemical signaling, reducing myopia progression by about 40 to 70 percent. They are simple to use and especially well suited for younger children, with mild effects like light sensitivity or slight near blur that are usually manageable. Multifocal contact lenses use specialized optical designs to create peripheral defocus, helping guide the eye to grow more slowly and reducing progression by 40 to 60 percent. They provide clear vision while treating myopia, making them a great option for active children who are ready for contact lens wear. Atropine is often a good fit for younger children, while contact lenses work well for older, responsible patients. In some cases, combining both treatments can further enhance control. Starting early and maintaining regular follow-up supports the best long-term outcomes.

Comprehensive Eye Exam for Contacts
A comprehensive eye exam is a thorough evaluation of the eye's health and function, including a prescription for contacts and eyeglasses.

Glaucoma Evaluation, Testing, and Management
Glaucoma testing is a series of evaluations used to detect and diagnose glaucoma, a group of eye conditions that can damage the optic nerve and lead to vision loss. The doctor will review the results and determine if further testing or treatment is necessary.

Diabetic Eye Health Evaluation, Testing, and Management
A Diabetic Eye Health Evaluation is a thorough examination of the eyes to detect and manage eye problems related to diabetes. Diabetes can affect vision in several ways, leading to potential vision loss and blindness. Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a complication of diabetes that affects the blood vessels in the retina, leading to vision loss and potential blindness. It is a leading cause of vision loss in adults with diabetes. The doctor will review the results and determine if further testing or treatment is necessary.

LASIK Evaluation and Referral
We partner with several of the leading surgeons in the Broward County area for LASIK procedures. LASIK is a refractive surgery that corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism by reshaping the cornea. A thin flap is created, lifted, and replaced after laser treatment.

Exam for Department of Motor Vehicles Form
An eye examination for a DMV form typically includes a visual acuity test to measure sharpness of vision, a refraction test to determine prescription, and a peripheral vision test to assess side vision.

Clear Lens Exchange Evaluation and Referral
We partner with several of the leading surgeons in the Broward County area for Clear Lens Exchange procedures. Clear Lens Exchange is a surgical procedure that corrects vision problems by replacing the natural lens with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). It's used to correct presbyopia, high myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. The procedure involves removing the natural lens and implanting an IOL through a small incision.

Cataract Evaluation and Referral
Our cataract evaluation and referral service is designed to help you understand changes in your vision and determine whether cataracts may be the cause. During your exam, we carefully assess your vision, check for glare or difficulty with daily activities, and evaluate the overall health of your eyes. If cataracts are present, we’ll explain what they are, how they may be affecting your sight, and what to expect as they progress. When the time is right, we coordinate a referral to a trusted eye surgeon and guide you through the next steps with confidence.

Problem-Focused Office Visit
A problem-focused office visit is designed to address a specific eye concern or sudden change in your vision. During your visit, we take the time to understand your symptoms, perform a targeted examination, and identify the cause of the issue. This may include evaluating eye health, checking vision, and using specialized testing as needed. We then explain our findings in clear terms and recommend the most appropriate treatment or next steps. Our goal is to provide timely relief, protect your eye health, and help you feel confident about your care.

Our colored contact lens evaluation determines whether you are a good candidate for safe and comfortable lens wear. During the visit, we carefully examine your eyes, assess your vision, and review your eye health and lifestyle factors. Not every patient is suited for colored lenses, so this evaluation helps identify the best options for you. If colored lenses aren’t recommended, you will still receive a prescription for clear contact lenses to meet your vision needs. We also provide guidance on proper fit, handling, and care to ensure that, if approved, your lenses are both safe and enjoyable to wear.

Retinal Evaluation and Ocular Investigation of New Flashes and/or New Floaters
Noticing flashes, floaters, or other changes in your vision is a signal to have a thorough retina evaluation. These symptoms can sometimes indicate conditions that affect the retina, including retinal tears, detachment, or other health issues. During your retina evaluation, we carefully examine the retina and overall eye health to determine the cause and recommend the most appropriate treatment, referral, or follow-up. Regular retina evaluations also help detect early signs of conditions like diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, or other retinal disorders before they impact vision.

At our office, we use Optomap® ultra-wide digital retinal imaging as part of our evaluations. Optomap captures a detailed, wide-field image of your retina in a single scan, allowing us to see areas that may be missed during a standard exam. This technology makes it easier to detect early signs of retinal problems, monitor changes over time, and provide more precise care. Having Optomap in our office means you get a faster, more thorough retinal assessment with images that can be reviewed and compared at every visit, helping protect your vision long-term.

No Dilation Eye Exam

Looking for a no-dilation eye exam in Pompano Beach, Lighthouse Point or also our close neighbors, Fort Lauderdale, or Boca Raton? We use Optomap® ultra-wide retinal imaging to capture detailed images of your retina in a quick, non-invasive scan. If your doctor or you feel dilation is needed for a complete assessment, dilation is still available at no extra charge when having a comprehensive examination. This makes our exams convenient, comprehensive, and tailored to your needs.
